At Tala & Nritya, we offer Bollywood and Odissi dance classes. What are they about?
Bollywood
It's an explosion of colours and rhythms from the cinema of Mumbai (formerly Bombay).
This dance combines technique, expressiveness and energy. The style blends elements of classical and folk Indian dances, while opening up to other influences like hip-hop, bellydance, contemporary...
From precise technique to dynamic choreographies, each class helps you progress in a supportive environment.
Odissi
Originating from the state of Odisha, in eastern India, it is one of the Indian classical dances.
This ancient art form is distinguished by its rhythmic footwork combined with graceful postures. Combined with mudras (hand positions), they tell a story through codified gestures. Combining technical precision, expressiveness and spirituality, Odissi works on posture, fluidity and the connection between movement and emotion.
Each class invites you to explore its specific technical vocabulary and gradually enter a rich choreographic repertoire.
