Our classes welcome people of all genders. Whether in Odissi, creative dance, or Bollywood, everyone can learn and participate together. In Bollywood films, choreographies are often built around colorful stories involving both men and women.

Is there a suitable age to learn Indian dance?
In our adult classes, we welcome participants from age 16 onwards. There is no upper age limit, people of very varied ages join our classes. It is never too late to begin, as long as dancing brings you joy and happiness. Our children's classes are currently suspended.

Which level should I choose?
No particular prerequisites are needed to start Indian dance classes. In beginner courses, you begin with technique and simple choreographies.
Have you already practiced Indian dance or another type of dance intensively and would like to start in a more advanced class? Talk to the instructor, who will guide you to the course that best suits your level.

CLASS CONTENT – OUTFIT – LANGUAGES – NUMBER OF STUDENTS

What does an adult class look like?
Each class begins with a warm-up tailored to the type of dance, with a focus on muscle strengthening.
Next comes the technique practice (mudras, footwork, turns, etc.), followed by choreography, which is progressively developed over the weeks.
The class ends with stretching.

What should I wear to classes?
Bollywood Indian dance is practiced barefoot or in dance socks/slippers. Wear loose clothing in which you feel comfortable. If you have an Indian tunic/kurti, the classes are a perfect opportunity to wear it!
For Odissi, classes are practiced barefoot since there is footwork involved. We invite you to wear a dance tunic/kurti/sari, paired with leggings or Indian pants.

What languages are spoken during the class?
Our instructors are generally Francophone but each speaks English well. Classes are therefore taught in French and in English if needed.

Our classes have a maximum of around twenty students. To run a class, a minimum of 6 registrations is required.
